"If we don't act now, it'll be too late." This was the warning from Sir David Attenborough ahead of the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow in November 2021.
His call for urgent action was prompted by the latest scientific assessment that to avoid the worst impacts of rising temperatures, global carbon emissions need to be halved by no later than 2030.
Carbon emissions increase the rate of global warming
Human-driven carbon dioxide & greenhouse gas emissions (CO²e) are the biggest cause of global warming that's heating up our planet.
Everything that we do - what we buy, what we eat, where we go, how we get there - adds to the amount of CO²e we produce, and contributes to the effects of global warming.
We offset our carbon footprint by planting trees
Carbon Neutral Britain's data shows that 98% of small businesses eligible for the scheme have a carbon footprint of less than 60 tonnes of CO²e per year.
We pay for the planting of 30 trees every month in sustainable projects around the world, which equates to 1.5 acres of forest per year, and offsets the 60 tonnes of CO²e per year.
